Writing

One book is stuck in editing hell. That's kept me from writing much lately, but I'm starting to ramp up again. I've started planning my second novel and a few short works.

The novel I've been editing will be available for preorder in late April 2026. A precise date will be ready in the coming weeks.

Major Life Update

Those who know me know about my long running 'Project Bradbury'. For those who don't, it stems from something Bradbury was fond of saying in interviews and speeches:

If we listened to our intellect, we’d never have a love affair. We’d never have a friendship. We’d never go into business, because we’d be cynical.

Well, that’s nonsense. You’ve got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.

—Ray Bradbury

Those words blasted me off the ledge. I've been aggressively stashing money, training people to replace me at work, and pushed hard for off-the-shelf replacements for internal systems that I designed and programmed.

As of January 1st, 2026, I hit terminal velocity. I said farewell to my employer of 15 years and set out to build something of my own.

Personal News

My youngest daughter is graduating from high school in May!

I'm also taking advantage of my newly flexible schedule to make up for ten years of missed concerts! Crowbar, Conan, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and Powerman 5000 are some of the highlights that Steph and I have tickets for.

Current Obsession

Guitar and music fell by the wayside as the years piled up at my old job.

Now I'm completely obsessed with fixing, modding, and playing guitars. I've even been building analog guitar pedal circuits.

I've been pouring over Projects for Guitarists and Brian Wampler's How To Design Your Own Guitar Pedal Circuits.

I'm also on a heavy metal biography kick. So far this year I've read the bios of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ronnie James Dio, and Rob Halford.
